The 2025 RNZPBA Summer School saw the CNP programme thrive once again, solidifying its place as a cornerstone of piobaireachd instruction in New Zealand.

The course was led by Gold Medallist Stuart Easton, commencing on 8th January 2025. It lasted for three days, with Stuart delivering up to 13 lessons per day, including group sessions. Every private lesson was fully booked, and attendance was 100%.

Due to high demand, additional lesson slots were made available during lunch hours to accommodate those who had initially missed out. Group sessions also drew significant interest, particularly the talk on preparation and high-performance habits, which resonated strongly with students at all levels.

The tutor recital, a highlight of the week, featured Stuart performing the Silver Medal tune The MacFarlane’s Gathering. As in previous years, the recital played a crucial role in promoting piobaireachd, inspiring a fresh intake of players.

With such strong attendance and dedication from students and tutors alike, the 2025 CNP Summer School reinforced its status as an essential event for the growth of piobaireachd in New Zealand. The excitement generated throughout the week ensures that the art form continues to thrive, with many students already setting their sights on competition and further study.
